Author Talk with Ivan Maisel

Connecticut author and award-winning sports writer Ivan Maisel of Fairfield will speak about his latest book, American Coach: the Triumph & Tragedy of Notre Dame Legend Frank Leahy at Fairfield Public Library. Maisel had rare and complete access to Notre Dame’s voluminous cache of historical material–as well as the cooperation of Leahy’s family– to write this compelling story of this archetypal coach who was a legend in his heyday of the 1950s.  Sure to be of interest to ALL college football fans hungry to rediscover the man and the era.

Ivan Maisel’s previous book, I Keep Trying to Catch His Eye: a Memoir of Loss, Grief and Love, was chosen by Fairfield Public Library as its 2023 One Book One Town selection.
