At the May deadline, CT Humanities awarded three sponsorships totaling $6,000. Sponsorships are intended for events, conferences, scholarships, awards, and more, with a maximum award of $2,000.

Receiving sponsorships at the May deadline are:

Norwich Historical Society (Norwich, $2,000)
Walktober and the Antient Ghosts of Norwich Tour
Held the Friday before Halloween and during Walktober, Last Green Valley’s multi-month regional event, Norwich Historical Society’s Antient Ghosts of Norwich Tour is a guided evening excursion through the Colonial Burying Ground in Norwichtown.

Friends of Wood Memorial Library and Museum (South Windsor, $2,000)
Indigenous Peoples’ Day Celebration
On Monday, October 10, 2022, the Friends of Wood Memorial Library & Museum will celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day inside Nowashe Village, a permanent outdoor museum of Indigenous life.

Connecticut Capoeira and Dance Center (West Haven, $2,000)
Afro-Brazilian Cultural Festival
The Afro-Brazilian Cultural Festival in Norwalk on August 21, 2022, will feature Samba music workshops, Capoeira workshops, and historical, and educational discussions about the impact of Capoeira and Samba on life and culture.
