Welcome to CT Humanities’ new Executive Director, Dr. Jason Mancini, who just completed his first week at CTH. Mancini said, “I am so excited and am hitting the ground running. I can’t wait to meet many of you as I visit around the state.” We invite you all to attend a reception for Jason on Thursday, January 25th at 5:30 PM, at Capital Community College. Mancini was the Executive Director of the Mashantucket Pequot Museum and Research Center, and was with the museum in different capacities since 1995. He is a lifelong Connecticut resident.

Mancini has a Ph.D., as well as an M.A., in Anthropology from the University of Connecticut. He has been a Visiting Assistant Professor of History at Brown University and an Adjunct Instructor in the Department of Anthropology at UConn. He is passionate about the humanities, history, culture, and the arts. In the past, he has partnered with both Connecticut Humanities and the National Endowment for the Humanities on projects. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Southeastern Connecticut Cultural Coalition.

CT Humanities’ Board Chairman Lawrence J. DeNardis, Ph.D. said, “We are delighted to have Jason on board and fortunate to have him as the new Executive Director of CT Humanities. Jason has tremendous professional, academic, and management experience. He will certainly be an asset to CT Humanities.”
