Supported in part by a $2,000 March Sponsorship, Maritime Music & Tradition Society presents its first Connecticut Sea Music Festival in Essex, CT, June 10th through 12th. The festival features scholarly, educational, and family outreach activities.
The Sea Music Symposium on June 10, held in-person and online, presents original humanities scholarship from international academics, independent researchers, and practitioners. Interactive workshops showcase maritime traditions, providing living historical context for British, American, African American and other chanteys and foc’sle songs.
