As costume dramas and eco-fashion pique interest among consumers and fashion producers, Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum explores the 19th-century hand me down/use it up practice through a new exhibition titled, Making It Last: Sustainable Fashion in Victorian America. Comparisons are made with that earlier practical necessity and  today’s efforts to support sustainability. Also explored is the less savory side of fashion history such as poisonous chemicals and worker exploitation. This exhibit was funded in part by a $4,999 April Quick Grant.
