February 15, 2018 • Features & News

Connecticut Humanities and the State Historian at UCONN Hartford are proud to announce a partnership production project with Connecticut Public Radio (WNPR) called On This Day in Connecticut History beginning April 2, 2018. State Historian Dr. Walter Woodward (left) will write these segments, many inspired by the book On This Day in Connecticut History by Dr. Gregg Mangan (top right), CT Humanities’ Manager of Digital Humanities.

Each story will last thirty seconds and focus on an important historic event that occurred in the past on the same date the program airs. Topics will range from UCONN basketball history, through the state’s largest earthquake, to the Pequot War, and the life of Connecticut-born financier JP Morgan.
