The New Britain Museum of American Art (NBMAA) presents The Poetry of Nature: Hudson River School Landscapes from the New-York Historical Society. To complement the display and similar works from the permanent collection, the NBMAA presents programming for adult audiences focused on the environment, conservation, and depicting landscapes. These programs are funded in part by a $4,993 December Quick Grant.
A sold out event, Artful Science Experience: Landscape Art as Science, on May 1st, features Harvard Environmental Health doctoral candidate and NBMAA Trustee Emerita Linda Powers Tomasso. It will be staged as actual scientific research to test nature’s stress-reducing capacity through audience responses to viewing live versus artistic interpretations of nature.
