The Newtown Historical Society is embarking on the digitization of its collection to make the objects and documents related to Newtown’s unique history available to a broader audience. This project includes an inventory of the collection to asses what objects need rehousing or warrant in-depth research in response to the inquiries the Society receives. Digital collections will be made available to the public to answer questions and invite curiosity in Newtown’s history.
Edmond Town Hall is planning a Woodstock Revival Weekend. On April 22nd the Edmond Town Hall will screen the documentary “Woodstock: Now and Then” with a post screening discussion and on April 23rd Back to the Garden 1969, a Woodstock tribute band with historical videography will take to the stage with a pre-concert panel discussion with authors, historians and musicians. The community will learn and discuss the culture, music and political environment leading up to the 1969 Woodstock Festival.
