Last Call: Unionville Taverns, Bars, and the Golden Age of Cocktails (in-person)

July 23 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Free

Join us for a lively presentation as we take a deep dive into the latest exhibit from The Unionville Museum and learn more about past and present Unionville watering holes, Prohibition, and the rise of home entertaining. Topics will also include the origins, folklore, and influence of America’s favorite cocktails, shakers and stories of Connecticut barware manufactures like Chase Brass Company and Hueblein spirits.

Presented by Tim LeBouthillier, Vice President of The Unionville Museum and lifelong vintage cocktail shaker and barware collector.

This lecture is presented in conjunction with the Unionville Museum’s latest special exhibit, “Unionville Bars, Taverns & Spirits”; running through Sunday, July 27th.  This special limited time exhibit highlights the history of Unionville’s favorite gathering spots, from past to present, showcasing historical artifacts, photographs, and memorabilia of Unionville’s favorite past and present gathering spots. Learn about Prohibition, view a stunning collection of vintage 20th-century cocktail shakers and barware, and learn stories from the former Hotel Worthy.

The Unionville Museum is located at 15 School Street, Unionville and is open Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2 to 4 p.m. For more information visit the Museum’s website at unionvillemuseum.org or call (860) 673-2231.
