Join us for a presentation by Patricia Sweeney on her new book, Frances Eliza Osborne Kellogg: chapters in a remarkable life, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 2pm at the Kellogg Environmental Center.
The long awaited biography about Frances Osborne Kellogg has arrived. Author Patricia Sweeney will give a book talk with a Q&A session about the famed “lady of Derby”. In the 1950s, dairy breeder and business woman Frances donated her farmland to the state of Connecticut creating Osbornedale State Park. In the 1980s, her home became the Osborne Homestead Museum and her trust funded the construction of the Kellogg Environmental Center. As reference librarian of Derby Neck Library and former museum educator, Patricia Sweeney’s biographical work represents the culmination of her decades-long research on Frances and the Osborne family.
