Author Paul Beatty will visit Hopkins School April 21 for a free reading and Q&A. The event will be in the Calarco Library on the Hopkins campus, 986 Forest Road.

Beatty is the author of the novels The Sellout, Slumberland, Tuff, and White Boy Shuffle; two volumes of poetry, Big Bank Take Little Bank and Joker, Joker, Deuce; and editor of Hokum: An Anthology of African-American Humor. He lives in New York City, where he teaches at Columbia University. With his most recent novel, The Sellout, Beatty became the first American author to win the Man Booker Prize for Fiction.
