CT Humanities, a state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities located in Middletown, Connecticut, is seeking a part-time (20-25 hours weekly) Accounting Assistant.

Job Description
Reporting to the Business Manager, the Accounting Assistant provides support to all departments.

Essential duties include:

  • General data entry and maintenance of vendor files.
  • Processing deposits and ACH transactions.
  • Processing invoices for our Book Voyagers program.
  • Assist Business Manager with annual audit preparation.
  • Assist Business Manager with payroll.
  • Assist with other accounting related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

 

  • Intermediate to expert knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, 365, SharePoint, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • 1-2 years QuickBooks experience.
  • Experience with BILL and ADP preferable.
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of collaboration tools such as Zoom or Teams.
  • Ability to work independently but engage with teams.
  • Occasional in-state travel required.
  • Knowledge of federal grants is helpful, but not required.

Salary Range: $22.00-$25.00/hour

Hours: 20-25 hours/week

Job Duration: This is a one-year position with the possibility of extensions, contingent on continued state funding support.

CTH’s workday is 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday with room for flexibility in employee schedules. The Accounting Assistant will work both remotely and onsite at CTH’s Middletown office. The Accounting Assistant will work with the Business Manager to create their in-office schedule upon hiring.
