Stepping Out on Faith: The Art & Journey of Charles Joyner (3/10-5/31/22) is key to the Library?s evolving exhibits with a focus on African American experience in Civil Rights Era CT & the African Diaspora. In 1964, Joyner was 1 of 14 Black southern students backed by Quakers to live in CT with white families and attend school. It celebrates his southern roots, Westport years and travels in Ghana, jointly fueling his identity, aspirations & artwork. Funds aid production, installation, honoraria.
