“Out on View” is a self-guided tour through the Wadsworth’s collections focusing on LGBTQ+ history. Visitors will discover narratives about gender and sexuality spanning 2,000 years that are often omitted from interpretive materials. The tour will be the first of its kind in a major museum in the United States. Funding will be used to hire an expert on the history of gender and sexuality, to consult on the project, lead two “live” tours, and deliver a lecture. The exhibition runs from June 22 to September 15, 2019.
