    How did African Americans, Puerto Ricans, and West Indians make Hartford their home between 1940 and 2019? Funding will be used for a traveling exhibition, oral histories, and a panel discussion with housing advocates to integrate the narratives of migration and settlement to explore the relationship between poverty, systemic racism, and housing. Housing became a theater in the struggle for civil and human rights for groups that are now the majority of Hartford’s population. The exhibit runs October 2019 to January 2020. The panel discussion is October 22, 2019.
