Funding will enable the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center to present An Evening with David Blight on November 21, 2019. The program will consist of the author discussing his latest book, Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom, followed by a conversation with fellow scholar Dr. Dann Broyld of Central Connecticut State University, and a facilitated question and answer period conducted by Stowe Center staff that include opportunities for audience participation that encourage them to think critically about slavery, abolition, racism, and equity and how we understand these issues in today’s world.
