Southington Night Live—An All-Age Improv Comedy Performance and Community Discussion with Sea Tea Improv Comedy Theater
August 18 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
YMCA Camp Sloper Amphitheater, 1000 East Street
Southington, CT, 06489
Are you ready to laugh?
The Southington Public Library understands how difficult the past two plus years have been on its community and the world at large. We might even be asking ourselves, “Are we as a society allowed to be funny yet? And if not now, when?”
Yet comedy reassures us that what we are collectively living through is not the norm, nor should it ever be. In the words of political comedian John Fugelsang, “The comedy has had to get so good because the news has got so bad.”
Please register and join us at the YMCA Camp Sloper Amphitheater on Thursday, August 18th from 6:30-8:00 pm for Southington Night Live, a 90-minute, interactive Sea Tea Improv Comedy Theater performance and community conversation for all ages. Enjoy an evening of clean humor and reflection themed from audience prompts on contemporary life (Yes! Toilet paper shortages and inflation truly can be funny!) At show’s end, Sea Tea Improv will facilitate a brief audience discussion and Q&A on the intersection of comedy, humor, and the humanities, showcasing that our similarities outweigh our differences.
Space is limited and registration is required. Registration begins Thursday, July 28th. Please register each individual attending, regardless of age.
Southington Night Live will be performed at the YMCA Camp Sloper Amphitheater at 1000 East Street, Southington, CT.
Thanks to the generosity of Connecticut Humanities, the Southington Library is able to provide thought-provoking, educational programming in a joyful medium all summer long.
