Join the Litchfield Historical Society on Sunday, January 29 at 3 p.m. for a lecture on Aaron Burr and the time he spent in Paris.
Aaron Burr in Exile: A Pariah in Paris is based on a journal which Burr kept of his European travels. In his talk, local author John Endicott will share Burr’s experience in Paris in 1810 and 1811 where he led a financially precarious existence, due to failed schemes to raise funds, while American consular authorities thwarted his desire to return home. Nevertheless, his spirits remained high, and Paris at the height of Napoleon’s power, held many and various attractions for the exiled Burr. Copies of the book will be available to purchase at the event.
Lectures are free for members and $5 for non-members. Space is limited and registration is required. Payment is required at time of registration. To register, call (860) 567-4501 or email email@example.com. For more information about this or other programs, please visit www.litchfieldhistoricalsociety.org.
