Free Community Day at the Tapping Reeve Meadow
May 20 @ 11:30 am - 3:30 pmFree
The Litchfield Historical Society is opening a new, interpretive landscape at the Tapping Reeve House & Litchfield Law School. The new community open space, the Tapping Reeve Meadow, features elements of the historic landscape found in Litchfield between the 18th and 20th centuries, and includes a children’s garden, education pavilion, small orchard, a chestnut grove, a wet meadow, stone walls, and traditional fencing. The Tapping Reeve Meadow is designed to provide the community and visitors with opportunities for learning, relaxation, and reflection.
Come experience Litchfield’s newest historically-inspired green space during our first annual free Community Day at the Tapping Reeve Meadow on Sunday, May 20 from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Families of all ages can create garden-inspired artwork, learn from demonstrations, and take part in fun games and challenges!
This event is free and for all ages! The Tapping Reeve Meadow will be open from dusk to dawn throughout the year. For more information about this or other programs, please visit www.litchfieldhistoricalsociety.org.
