The 2022 Connecticut Sea Music Festival is a maritime folk festival in Essex, CT. We’re partnering with the town as well as individual venues such as the Griswold Inn and the Connecticut River Museum.

Daytime events are free, with donations accepted; Evening Concerts are ticketed.

On Friday at the Essex Public Library, there will be a free Symposium on the Music of the Sea, with scholars and performers in person and a Zoom presentation on Asian sea music traditions. The Symposium will also be livestreamed: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCArimF5bKwpitHUyROb08WQ/

Friday and Saturday night concerts will feature a wide range of singers and instrumentalists performing chanteys and other sea music. During the day on Saturday and Sunday there will be participatory family activities and more workshops with Festival performers.
