Although delayed by Covid 19, the 2020 Census is still happening. Join Connecticut’s Old State House for a three-part program series to learn about the evaluation of the census, the data collected, its role in shaping future policy and funding, and some of the controversies surrounding the 2020 Census.

Each conversation will take place via Facebook Live on the Connecticut’s Old State House Facebook page.

Every census has the power to generate great changes in our communities. But who uses that data? And how?

Moderated by Emmy award winning journalist, Diane Smith, and with an introduction by Secretary of the State Denise Merrill, our panel of experts will discuss how the 2020 Census data will be used to inform funding, redistricting, the building of schools and hospitals, and many other important decisions that will impact us all.

Join Rep. Brandon McGee from the Black and Puerto Rican Caucus, Keith Phaneuf from the CT Mirror and Gian-Carl Casa of the CT Community Nonprofit Alliance as they explore how the census will shape the future.
