Become a StEPs-CT mentor

The Connecticut League of History Organizations and Connecticut Humanities seek a talented museum professional to become a StEPs-CT program mentor. StEPs-CT is a two-year enrichment program designed to help small museums and historical societies achieve success in six areas of institutional competence.

Program mentors coach participating institutions as they progress through the StEPs-CT program, working collaboratively to help set organization-specific goals, identify and teach to knowledge gaps, maintain regular contact with organizational liaisons, and act as cheerleader both in person, online, and on the phone. This is a twenty-six month, part time commitment averaging 8-12 hours per month on a flexible schedule.

Successful applicants will have extensive experience working with small- and mid-size collecting organizations, knowledge of general nonprofit management best practices, and a demonstrated ability to guide organizational transition. Candidates must be self-motivated, able to work independently, highly organized, flexible, and have excellent communication skills.
